Winton’s first home game in almost three months saw them get struggle to get a point against Craigmark.  From the off, Craigmark took the game to their hosts shooting up the hill on a heavy pitch. Craigmark had the first shot on 7 minutes when Scott Dempster turned and hit a left foot shot but it was too high.  Colin Robertson was forced into a superb stop when Martin Lawrie was about to strike Paul Brown slid in to clear but his clearance was goal bound forcing Winton’s keeper to dive to his left to parry the ball past the post.  ‘Mark were on top during the first quarter forcing four corners to Winton’s none but not many efforts were on target at this stage.  Winton’s best chance to get a goal came on the half hour when a free kick from Colin Frye was flicked on by John Gallagher and Ferguson hooked the ball out for a corner – the Rovers’ first of the match.  From this corner, Gallagher’s cross was met flush on the forehead of Alan Shanks who bulleted a header past Douglas in the ‘Mark goal.  Scott Adam almost extended the home side’s lead a couple of minutes when he rose to head the ball home but was adjudged to have fouled.  Winton again pushed for a second when McAvoy got free on the left and hit a low shot that Douglas parried and a combination of Adam and Muir couldn’t combine to force the loose ball home but the giant keeper managed to smother the ball and end the danger.  ‘Mark got the equaliser on 39 minutes when a free kick 23 yards out was struck by Steph Holland but the ball was deflected off the studs of Brown for the ball to squirm past the despairing Robertson in the Winton goal.  Dempster managed to get to the near post to head just past before the half time whistle blew.  Into the second half and the weather conditions were not relenting in what proved to be a pretty dreich day for football,

On the hour mark Clapperton had a great chance when he found himself in acres of room when he headed past the near post following a cross on the right.  On 62 minutes Winton’s Wilson got free on the right to fire in a shot that Douglas got down to parry.  Craigmark’s Holland got in at the near post to fire a header that just went past the far post in a 5 minute flurry of activity.  ‘Mark’s centre half strolled into midfield on 77 minutes and fired in a shot that just went over from fully 35 yards out.  As the game went on each side had spells of possession but neither keeper had much to do as the game petered out.
