24 Jul 2008 - Emphatic win v Neilston 21's
Winton strolled to an emphatic win over their u21 opponents scoring 10 goals in the process. The game was played on the Woodfarm astrograss in Thornliebank and Winton's trialist striker got off the mark after 20 seconds and made it 2 after 5 minutes. He completed his hattrick in 16 minutes and then Milliken with a superb strike made it 4 before the Neilston lads got a goal back when their striker met a ball at the back post and hooked it home. Winton were not letting up and to be fair to the Neilston they had quite a few new faces in their ranks, typified when one of their players was shouting "Number 7 pass it".
The goals in the second half came courtesy of 4 this time from Graeme Hamilton and one from the penalty spot from Graeme Patterson. Scott Adam got the final goal of the game.
Winton played some really good football on the astrograss - good one touch stuff that the as yet ring rusty Neilston team found to their cost.
