Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2001 Committee were formed in April 2001 after the Ardrossan Winton Rovers Limited Company decided that they were unable to continue to run the club.
A hardy band of supporters took up the offer to run the football club and secured a lease on the park.
Winton Park was in a state of decay as the photo suggests and after some remedial work in late 2001 Winton Park was ready again for football.
The first game at Winton Park in over 6 months saw a 4 each draw at home to Darvel - a marvellous match but not exactly the home welcome that the team were looking for.
Moves began after that to purchase the park from the limited company as the leasing arrangement proved to be far from ideal.
After several years of negotiations in June 2005 the committee managed to purchase the park from the limited company and plans are currently in place to redevelop the ground including having a 3rd generation artificial turf in place to allow the use of the park for all parts of the community.
The club have recently started to incorporate youth teams at various ages and the club are also applying for the SFA quality mark

Whilst we endeavour to produce exciting football - some of our loyal fans don't always see it that way - either that it is too horrific to watch. Regardless of what is on display you will be made more than welcome at Winton Park
